An endless array of consumer goods can be found for sale on eBay. There's a lot of talk about finding good prices, but what about finding good products? When searching for a given type of consumer item, it isn't uncommon to find dozens of different makes and models on offer. In order to know whether current prices are any good, you've first got to know whether the products in question are any good.
That's where eBay Reviews & Guides comes in.

eBay Reviews
eBay Reviews (on the left side of the Reviews & Guides page) works in much the same way that reviews systems at other e-tailers (most notably Amazon.com) work. eBay Reviews provides a space in which eBay members can rate a specific product's quality (by make and model) on a scale from one through five and write a brief review of their experience with the product. These ratings and reviews are then aggregated by eBay and made available to other eBay buyers. In short, you can use eBay Reviews to:

Decide whether or not you're interested in buying an item
Decide whether or not you feel that the current bid price is fair for the item on offer
Compare quality and user experiences with different brands or models of the same type of item
Choose the best music, movies, or video games to purchase
Share your opinion of a product (whether good or bad) with other eBay members
eBay Guides
eBay Guides (on the right side of the Reviews & Guides page) is a forum in which eBay members can give public instruction or advice to other eBay members about selecting and using various types of products that can be found for sale on eBay. For example, you might find guides on choosing pickups for your electric guitar or selecting, purchasing, and using NASCAR tickets. In short, you can use eBay Guides to:

Find general information about a class or type of product
Get more detailed help on how to select the best products to be found on eBay
Learn how to use products
Learn about pitfalls and risks that you'll encounter when shopping for some types of products on eBay
Share your insights or experience about specific types of products with other eBay members
Searching and Browsing Reviews & Guides
To search eBay Reviews & Guides to get help with a specific product or type of product, follow these steps, beginning at the Reviews & Guides home page:

Select "Reviews" from the drop-down list near the top of the page to search only reviews, "Guides" to search only guides, or "Reviews & Guides" to search both types of information.

Enter the make and model of the product that you want to search for (if you're looking for information about a specific product) or the name of the type of product, like "video game consoles," if you just want general or comparison information.

Click on the "Search" button and browse through the results when they appear.
You can also browse your way through reviews and guides from the front page by following the category links near the bottom of either column on the Reviews & Guides front page.
