Blimey!  I think leaving neutral feedback, having being sent something different to that which was advertised, was very generous of you.   I don't know how people can do that.  It is fraud, and the only saving grace was that they refunded you promptly.   If it was a genuine oversight on their part, and if I were them, I would  probably have done one of two things....

a) sent you the correct items telling you to keep the original mistaken items, or
b) sent you the correct items and if you insisted on returning the mistaken items, refunded you the postage for doing so

It's not as though you've simply changed your mind about no longer wanting the item

I'm not 100% sure but if the Non payer dispute goes through with you being in the wrong (as seen by the dispute) does that mean you will have your account closed by ebay?? I would check on this just incase, however I think it is very unlikely that you would be seen to be in the wrong but hey stranger things have happened with ebay!
Personally I think you should stick to your guns and tell um where to shove it! Also depending on the goods ie dodgy dvds I would email and state that if they insist upon carrying on with the non-payer dispute then you have no choice but to contact the relevant authorities . ie FACT... state that you would only be doing this to prove your point in the dispute with ebay. You could also say in your mail that you are more than happy to return the goods if they are prepared to pay the postage for that..

I would definitely stick to your guns Sam.  You are being perfectly reasonable and they are just trying to bully you.  I have been on the receiving end of this myself lately (in a completely different context) and my feelings are that while it can be difficult - definitely don't let them get away with bullying you!

I think that on investigation it should be fairly obvious that you are in the right - you paid initially, the goods weren't as described, plus surely ebay would take a dim view of pressurising people into giving positive feedback?!  Can you chase up ebay about this?

Hope it all works out okay.

I think you have to non-pay 3 times for ebay to close your account. However, as ebay own Paypal, it must be abundantly clear to them that the seller refunded your money - this is actually an ebay glitch in my book as I know that if I even partially refund, it suddenly turns up on my Ebay account looking as if they haven't paid.
As you couldn't refund your own money, and if you have responded to the dispute with your side of the story in nice, factual tones, I would think you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Nasty though, and you have my total sympathy. Neutral feedback doesn't even harm their rating so they must be rather sensitive, wonder why!

Oh yes, I'd forgotten that, I had an NPB against me, but the seller had cancelled the sale because they didn't have the item in stock (an eBay no-no). Anyway, it got closed as "mutually agreed to cancel sale," I was cleared and they got their listing fees back. It's an eBay oddity that it is the way they deal with uncompleted sales
