running your own auction site will be tough unless you are a millionaire and have funds to splash out on advertising.

you will not be able to compete with ebay and so on unless your loaded ..

we have seen many auction sites come and go at the drop of a hat. its just not worth the time and hassles to only find out its a flop.. personally i wouldnt go there. but if u do then good luck in the venture :-)

yeh web designer would be good but u can pick up auction site scripts where u just install on your hosting. then edit the site as u plse.

as for custom. well you would need to do alot of work to get alot of people. ie tele ads.. newspaper ads and so on..the more money u lay out on advertising the better.

Look at the publicity that Tazbar had earlier this year, and it got nowhere with it.

You may get somewhere if you focused on a niche product - eBare does very well in adult products as the UK site forbids any listings like that.

yeah would like to try as someone told me to start with limited products? i really think i'll give this a shot.

just doing research just now. i'll have it as a part time thing and see how it go from there. i'll keep in touch with my finds and research. Cheesy

IVE DONE A BIT OF RESEARCH AND IVE NOTICED EBAY HAVE BOUGHT OUT A LOT OF COMPETITORS AND THATS WHY THERE SO FAR AHEAD IN THE MARKET. ABROAD RATHER THAN OPEN UP A EBAY THEY BUY OUT THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ONLINE AUCTION WEBSITE AND HAVE ALSO DONE THAT STATE SIDE. SO IM NOW THINKING WHY CANT SOMEONE CHALLENGE EBAY WHEN ITS BEEN DONE BEFORE. THERE CONTROLLING THE MARKET WITH PURE CASH POWER. ANY1 KNOW OF INVESTORS WHO LIKE A CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IM A WHOLESALER SO I COULD RUN AUCTIONS FROM MY STOCK UNTIL IT GOT ENOUGH CUSTOM. WHICH WOULD GIVE ME AHEAD START ON A LOT OF OTHER AUCTION SITES OUT THERE.

I have started my own auction site recently (member needed) and i have made it 100% Free from ALL fees.

I have made only a very small investment for the software and webspace.

PM me for the address if you are interested..

im asuming www.ruworth.com

is your site, i have already looked, no members or listings (other than redictable numbers on auctions that will never end!)

how long have you been running it ?

its hard to set up and be succesful with out TONS or investment, and a very big spend on design work.

Yes it is Ruworth. I have about 10 members but ive only been live online for about a week and not had much chance to advertise it ... (any ideas)

The numbers i have listed will end but only in 2012 Smiley there only on there to make the site look like it being used...

Im open to any suggestions to help me..

Thanx

If you have a huge customer base you do not need to much
advertising although it does help to promote it a bit.

I have listed my items on DYNABID and invited some buyers who
purchased from me there, If they want my stuff it is now the
only place they can get it from me in the quantity I have listed.

There are many ways to get things moving you just got to have
a clue or 2.

Personally I would not want my own auction site when I think I
have found one that suits me just fine.
