This is not only untrue but counter-intuitive. Ebay makes ALL of their money from sellers and in my experience, they usually side with them over buyers. To each their own, though

Depends on how you look at it. If there were no buyers, eBay's commission from the items sold disappears. No incentive for the seller to even put items up for sale, so no more listing commission either.
